Project Overview
The new website will be far more advanced than the current site, both in it’s presentation to the user, as well as for managing updates and content additions for the client.
The site will have both an HTML and Flash versions, so the user can choose between the fast loading raw information of a standard HTML site, or the more visually pleasing advanced motion graphics of Flash. The site will also be entirely search engine optimized, greatly enhancing the client’s online exposure to potential clients, engineers, specifiers, and career seekers through the major search engines, such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo!.
Behind the scenes, the website will be database driven and fully updateable by the client through a custom CMS (content management system) that we are building. This will allow non-technical users (client employees) to update the site quite easily, through a simple web-ased interface. The CMS has an extensive user levels and related permission system that provides added security and error mitigation for the client. Posts and changes need to be approved by authorized management before they are published to the website.
